Experiences

It begins with a wonderful stay at the cliff, but it doesn’t end there.

The Negril are has so many exciting experiences to offer. Here are a few that might peak your interest and help shape the planning of your trip.

7 Mile Beach

Negril is famous for its beautiful white sand beach that stretches on for an amazing 7 miles. The 7 Mile Beach is lined with bars, restaurants, glass bottom boats, parasailing, warm clear blue water and an exciting local life. If you’re getting the itch to dip your toes into the sand and have someone serve you a cocktail as you lay in the sun, the 7 Mile Beach is a quick 5 minute drive away from Xtabi.

Benta Falls

Benta Falls is a must-see local treasure that is only a short 30 min ride away from Xtabi. You will be guided through the falls by adept chaperones who can explain the history and anatomy of the falls, including a point where three rivers meet! There are areas to swim, lagoons to jump into, a mineral mud massage and secret caves to explore under the falls.

Booby Cay

One of the most magical excursions in the Negril area is Booby Cay Island just a few miles off of the 7 Mile Beach. The island is accessible by boat and most commonly available through the local glass bottom boats that line the beach. There’s a beautiful reef on the way to the island which is a great snorkel opportunity— sightings include a rainbow of different fish and wildlife as well as an ancient canon that sank to the bottom of the seafloor. It’s worth it to negotiate a full lobster lunch with the boat ride and snorkel trip because it’s the best lobster you’ll have on the island!

Local Restaurants

Of course it's a pleasure to dine at our own Xtabi restaurant but when you’re looking for a change of pace there are plenty of other wonderful dining options in the area. Pushcart and 3 Dives Jerk Center are both less than a five minute walk from Xtabi. Catch a Falling Star, LTU, Kool Vybes, Ivan’s, Ricks Cafe, Canoe, and Patsy’s are all West End staples that you should definitely try and are no further than a five min car ride away from Xtabi.

Blue Hole

One of Negril’s most recognized attractions is just 30 minutes away or less. The blue hole is a natural fresh water pool that sits deep into a cave. You can climb down a 25ft ladder to enter the water or if you’re daring enough, feel free to jump in! You’ll see locals, such as the well known Reggie, who will jump from the trees above reaching about a 35ft foot high fall. The water itself is 35ft feet deep and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to spot some fish swimming inside so bring your goggles.

Hummingbird.jpg

Hummingbird Garden

If you’re a nature lover, just 10 minutes down the road you’ll find Barney’s Hummingbird Garden that is not only host to hundreds of Hummingbirds but also home to a gorgeous botanical garden. You can enjoy the garden for the afternoon but you’ll also be able to hand feed the hummingbirds out of little bottles. The experience is very meditative and really connects you with nature. Plus, it’s a great photo opp!

Jam West.jpg

Jam West

For the adrenaline seeking guests, a local adventure park offers a number of thrilling experiences including zip lining, ATV riding, a race track, horse back riding, a safari tour and push karts amongst other things. If you’re the athletic type there are several rock climbing walls on site. There’s a lot to fill your need for excitement at Jam West and if you’re beat after a long day of thrill-seeking they have food and drinks available on site (as well as some cute parrots).
